Click the link below to read about recommendations for managing fatigue and tiredness for epilepsy patients. This includes tips such as cutting down on caffeine and alcohol and eating more regularly. You can also subscribe to the site’s e-action newsletter for epilepsy news and events, and how you can get involved.

The NHS offers a list of recommendations such as:

Reducing Caffeine Intake: Caffeine causes energy spikes, therefore consuming a drink that includes caffeine (such as energy drinks, pre-workouts or coffee) late at night can make it harder to get to sleep.

Reducing Alcohol Intake: Drinking alcohol before bed shouldn’t make it hard to get to sleep, however you may sleep less deeply, therefore feeling more fatigued in the morning.

Eating regularly: Ensuring that your energy levels stay stable throughout the day is important when combatting fatigue, therefore you should try to eat regular, healthy meals with snacks in between.
