Oxytocin Secretion is Stimulated by Changes in Glucose Metabolism

See below a link to a study by the National Library of
Medicine discussing the relation between Glucose Metabolism and Oxytocin.
Oxytocin is a hormone secreted from the pituitary gland and
has been referred to as the "cuddle" or "love" hormone
because it is released when people bond socially or snuggle up.
Previous studies have shown that infusion of oxytocin into
normal dogs increased plasma levels of insulin and glucagon. These responses
were accompanied by increased rates of glucose production and overall glucose
uptake. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether, conversely,
changes in glucose metabolism would result in changes in oxytocin secretion.
